Shah Rukh Khan talks about patching up with Salman

In an in-depth interview right after hugging Salman, Shah Rukh Khan spoke to People magazine
about life under intense scrutiny, his love for the movies - and his joy over the arrival of his third child, baby AbRam.

Shah Rukh Khan’s famous hug with Salman Khan at Baba Siddiqui’s Iftaar party created major ripples and the media was buzzing with it. While the media tried to press for details, he diplomatically avoided them.

"There are days when I get up and feel I have everything I deserve and those are the most honest days," says the superstar.

Following are the excerpts from Shah Rukh Khan's candid chat, in which the movie star talks about a role he is dying to play, finding solace in his kids and his 21-year partnership with wife Gauri.

On his love for the movies

"Making a film is a way of life. The most natural instinct for me is to wake up, wash myself, wear my white T-shirt, jeans and sneakers, sit in the car with my hair wet and glasses on, listen to some FM channel and then reach a set. Sometimes I wonder if I stop going to shoots for good, what will happen to me?"

On life with Gauri

"I think it's very difficult to live with a person like me. So I value her for the crap she takes from me, the lack of time I give her and the kind of person I am. I don't think there are very many people who can live with me. I'm strangely passionate. I'm strangely detached. I'm strangely wonderful. I'm strangely nasty. I'm strangely happy and I'm extremely depressed. I'm strangely schizophrenic. I'm a classic case of being an artist without perhaps having any greatness in my art. So what I appreciate most about her is that she is able to take all this."

On baby AbRam's health

"He is getting better and in another month, he should be physically good. It has been a happy and a sad time. We're not allowed to spend too much time with him, as he lives in a protected environment. Right now that suits me fine."

Bhaag Milkha will finally be released in Pakistan on August 23

The Pakistan Censor Board which initially banned the release of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s biopic, has now agreed to release the inspirational flick next month

Though the Farhan Akhtar starrer is minting good money at the Indian box office and overseas, the biopic was banned from being released in Pakistan after the trailer of the film showed the lead character refusing to move to Pakistan to participate in the race. The dialogue – ‘Mujhse nahin hoga, main Pakistan nahin jaunga’ was considered as the main reason for disallowing the film’s release.

After a lot of debate – ranging from whether a biopic on an Indian athlete would do well in Pakistan to lesser number of shows in the holy month of Ramadan – Geo Films has now decided to release BMB that has been doing well in India and across the globe. Rehmat Fazli, CEO of Geo Films believes that the audience in Pakistan has become mature and deserves to watch quality films on bigger screens instead of their homes.

“The film’s release was mostly halted due to the holy month of Ramadan where the number of shows in Pakistani cinemas is less than usual,” informs Rehmat Fazli. “But after Eid, the movie will be released all over the country and the cinema loving audience would get a chance to watch the movie on the large screen instead of on pirated print. They prefer a late release to a no-release and that’s why we are confident that the movie will do well,” adds Fazli.

Deepika Padukone to play Shahrukh Khan’s leading lady in Happy New Year

After a lot of speculation as to who will star opposite the Baadshah in his next home production, we are glad that we will get to see SRK and Deepika together on screen again soon. First it was Jennifer Winget Grover of Saraswatichandra fame and then it was Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Ankita Lokhande who were rumoured to play SRK’s leading lady, as Farah was looking for a fresh face.

Later, it was Katrina Kaif whom Shahrukh was rooting for, especially after their movie Jab Tak Hai Jaan did well.

Deepika has been finalised now. She debuted in SRK’s production Om Shanti Om that was directed by Farah. So she is Farah’s baby, so to speak.

Happy New Year is to go on floors in September 2014. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah and reportedly Prithviraj who was last seen opposite Rani Mukerji in Aiyya and also in a supporting role in Aurangzeb.
